3rd Day of our CZech Tour

We started the morning bright and early at 8:00am with breakfast. We had some very nice pastries, and other tasty items to start our day.

We were headed to Novy Bor, a glass town that during the Austrian Empire days was known as Haida, and among older Germans is still called that. There are many glass studios and hot shops that produce glassware of outstanding quality and fabulous artistic expression.

The countryside we have been driven thru to get to all the glass factories.

Next glass hot shop.
This factory made some very lovely bubble glass.

I just love this bubble glass!

They started using a two tone color glass to make this lovely glass.

And then they made something totally unusual, with the help from the artist who created this look.

And then we stopped for a late lunch and this was worth the wait. This cook is a wonderful Chef and everything tasted to fantastic!

This restaurant also had a studio apartment above it with lovely views of the secret garden - we are planning on staying there next year.

We also stumbled on an old Czech butcher shop that specializes in sausage. That's on Guy's list.

The weather cleared up for most of the day with sun and slightly warmer temps, to the point that jackets came off. A very nice day indeed. When we got back to the pension J-Me cooked us all a wonderful meal, then we all started the big task of labeling our purchases for shipping home. I'm not sure our car is big enough to transport everyone's stuff in one trip to the shipper. Brian or Don might have to sit on the roof. Luckily, I (Guy) is the driver.

Either tonight or tomorrow night is a full moon, and this village Zasada has almost no streetlights, so the night is bright with moonlight.

Good night.
