We started off on one of our favorite vintage warehouse to try to find whatever strikes our fancy. We never know what we will see here.
Here are some Christmas trees made from old rhinestones.
Next we set out trying to find a small pressing hut for glassware, and could not find them. The addresses just did not work on our GPS, and the numbers on the house did not line up. Guy decided to pull over and ask the next information center. They were very helpful and even gave him a map and drew on it showing his where to find it. When we arrived no one was waiting for us, so Guy pressed the door bell, knocked on the door but no one answered. Guy tried the door and it was unlocked so he entered the building calling hello. A big hairy man came running into the room with a huge butchers knife, but quickly put it down when he realized Guy was not a threat. He called on the phone and the glass presser we had an appointment with drove up and apologized for being late. Yikes!
These molds are over 130 years old. He has a huge pile of them.
Some of the many perfume bottles which can be made. We placed our order for some of them.
This is the gate entrance to the old glass making company, Jizerske sklo. They are no longer here and in fact have closed down. A automotive parts company has moved in. Note the glass pliers welded into the gate.
Went to Lunch at a small new little restaurant.
Guy has the Special Goulash for the day.
There were many great items for sale at the shop, but the prices were really high and Guy did not feel comfortable buying them and decided to wait until J-Me saw them. We never went back.
Returning from that little excursion, the men picked up J-Me and we all drove to the Hotel Epocha in Janov for dinner. Having stayed there many times and making friends with the owners Veronica and her chef husband Michael, we were told dinner was for guests of the hotel only. However, the waitress let us sit at a table once she knew we were friends, and we placed our order. The food was good, but the rest of the diners were families with out of control children who screamed and ran around, ruining the atmosphere of the restaurant and the dining experience. We quickly finished our meal and fled.
Ended the night by packing our bags for check out in the morning and ice cream for desert.
Tomorrow is the last day of the tour.
Did I see little Christmas trees there! Did you order any of them? I have an entire collection of little Christmas trees. but this is a new variation for me. Keeping my fingers crossed......
ReplyDeletesorry, they would not let us order them for this year, as the production is already under way for 2018.
