5th Day and last day of the Glassware Tour

Today we check out of the pension, with our last breakfast spread.

We went to a very nice Artist etcher who engraves and etches on glassware.
He is quite famous, with his pieces being sold in Prague for much higher prices than here in his studio in Jablonec.

We went to a Lampwork Studio today in hopes of buying some of the sculpture pieces, beads and some other items of glass they make. When we got there more then 75% of their stock was sold out. It was shocking to see all their display cabinets empty. We were greatly disappointed that we could not purchase much of anything, but very happy for the owners who were excited to have such a large sale.  J-Me was able to buy a small amount of lampwork icicles. The owner even sat down and made us a few more.

We went to the large Preciosa seed bead shop to try to buy some seed beads. J-Me bought some seed beads stock: charlottes, hex cuts and a few colors of Cornelian Star seed beads. She was soooo excited to be able to find some of these to bring to our customers.

And then it was over. With Brian and Don's suitcases loaded in the car, last minute purchases handed off to the shipper, J-Me checked into the hotel, Guy drove off to the Prague airport to send the men home. It was the evening before a 3 day weekend holiday, with Friday being a national holiday celebrating the forming of Czechoslovakia back in 1918 a hundred years ago, so the roads were packed with cars heading out of or into Prague.

Guy got back to the hotel in Jablonec 4 hours later. Luckily, there was an ice cold beer waiting for him.

So although the glassware tour is over, we now are on our own bombing around Czech for a few days, then Poland, then Belgium and once day in Paris.

Stay tuned.
