First day of tour.

8:15am breakfast downstairs in the front room, Adolf is the perfect host. Guy has been awake for 2 1/2 hours, walking the property and drinking coffee. It is so quiet here!

9am and off we go.... Poland and the Julia glassware factory in Piechovice.

J-Me and Don took the glass tour. Lampwork, blowers and cutting. Very impressive.

We all bought glassware from the colored room and the crystal room downstairs. When we arrived we were almost the only customers, but when we left the building it was packed elbow to elbow.
And I so wish we could purchase these, but these are from the historical archives.

Next stop - Harrachov, Czech Republic to the oldest continually operating glassware factory in the country.
We just had to go shop in their showroom.

One day we are going to buy that large red chandelier.

We bought some pieces, then went to a restaurant tucked away in the mountains down a little rutted road. No English menu, hardly any English but lots of effort and smiles. The food was amazing! and huge portions for a very good price. No Prague prices here. We were groaning when we left.

Last, after some beer and snack purchases at a nearby grocery store (Billa), we returned to the pension and the button spread laid out for us to admire, drool over and purchase. Which we all did.

Beer, cheese, sausage and crackers, wine and juice were consumed while everyone re-lived their glassware purchases and the overall events of the day.

By 9pm it started to rain hard, then settled into a drizzle with wind by midnight. All of us were asleep except for J-Me, who started working on the computer..... emailing teaser shots of buttons and glassware. Bad J-Me.

Good night everyone!
